The Alabama Port Authority has been issuing new Port Credentials since May 2024. This new credential will be used for access control at all of our gates and many of our buildings. Now that we have issued almost 4,000 port credentials, we plan to fully implement the new credential on MARCH 5, 2025. After that date, the older blue port credential will no longer be valid for entry at any of our facilities. We will prepare a handout at each gate to explain the details.
- The new Port Credential will be linked with your TWIC card during credential registration to allow entry into our restricted areas.
- To enroll the Port Credential, you will need the TWIC PIN that was mailed in a separate envelope along with your latest TWIC (see attached TWIC PIN Letter).
- The TWIC PIN was included in that letter on a smaller card the same size as a TWIC (see attached TWIC PIN).
- The Card Identification Number (CIN) should be the same on both your TWIC PIN card and TWIC. The CIN is located on the bottom left corner on the back of your TWIC.
If you cannot locate your TWIC PIN, you will need to go to the nearest TWIC Enrollment Center to reset your TWIC PIN or register online for an appointment. The nearest TWIC Enrollment Center is located at 2200 Perimeter Road, Mobile, AL 36615 and they will accept walk-ins for a TWIC PIN reset without an appointment. While you can make an appointment through the online system mentioned below, it is not required for resetting your TWIC PIN at the Mobile office. Additionally, the TWIC Enrollment Office in Gulfport, MS, always accepts walk-ins for TWIC PIN resets without an appointment if you are near that office.
